Oxford Geoengineering Programme

University Lecturer in Atmospheric Physics

Philip leads the "Assessment of Cloud Modification Proposals for Geoengineering" project, aimed at delivering a quantitative assessment of solar radiation management (SRM) proposals through cloud modification.

He heads the Climate Processes Group in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics of the Department of Physics at Oxford.  His research addresses physical climate processes in the context of anthropogenic perturbations to the earth system as the underlying cause of climate change and air pollution.

A focal point of his research is aerosol and cloud physics, their interactions and their role in the climate system.
